January

January in the part of England where I live is usually mild and wet except for the last three years when they got progressivly colder. Till 2012 so far this winter has been so mild with much rain there has been no frost in the garden at all yet and I have Camellias out the one at the bottom of the garden in the photo usually blooms in April! The photo of the snow through the garden gate was taken in January 2011.

Wow! and I was impressed there were crocusses blooming on the roundabout! I have had a few roses force a bloom now and then through the 'winter'.

How beautiful it must be at this time of year.
Living where I do we would not see the likes of such till June.
It will be -18C with the wind chill here tonight... your vibrant Camellia would not last the night.

Thank you for all your comments, since I posted the weather has changed to freezing cold with bitter nights, luckily the garden is very sheltered. No snow yet though!
