The newest member of my family - my 8 month old grandson -
and his great-great grandfather, the oldest member of the family of whom I have a photograph.
Although we no longer post our images here on this blog, we have continued to leave the photos for you to be inspired by.

Old/New April
Every April I attend a quilting retreat held at the Dumas Bay Retreat Center. It is a gathering of quilters from near and far. For many of us this retreat is the only time of year that we get to see each other face-to-face. It's a time to renew friendships and spur creative endeavors. For me this retreat captures all of this month's Ideas of Inspiration prompts, the old, the new and the month of April.
Rather than destroy a storm damaged tree the caretakers had artist Bob King come in and transform it into this sculpture titled "Endurance". Creating something new and beautiful from scraps is certainly something quilters can readily understand, be they fabric scraps or tree "scraps".

Old/New - meeting of seasons
finally my old/new photo
This was earlier in January when our winter hadn't come yet and seasons were confused so that new hydrangeas were blooming amongst old left over ones from last year.

Old and New
Taken from the Isle of Wight ferry on Thursday.. The old and crumbling jetty in front of the most modern and stark of new buildings..

Old / new
The Klarakirche (St. Clare's Church) in Nürnberg, Germany was built in the 13th century and badly damaged by bombing in World War 2. It was reconstructed after the war in a stark, modern style, but a few of the original pieces that survived were incorporated into the new structure. The old and new work well together -- the faith is eternal.

Old/New, Past/Present
The new prompt for April is Old/New, Past/Present, or anything along those lines.
I will post something myself soon, but am dealing with a very poorly dog, my special little friend. So this is for her I guess. She didn't seem like she was 13 years old 3 weeks ago, and now it is already near the end.
anyhow...
I'd love to see what comes to mind for you with Old/New or Past/Present. I will just set the label to be Old/New so that it isn't so hard to label it.
I will make up a word picture and add it into this post as soon as I can, but it has been a long week and I have run out of brain.
