Orange/rust bricks with turquoise/blue pots and Green leaves with red/pink flowers.

Never go wrong...

You can never go wrong with red and green when selecting complementary colors! I love phlox and so do butterflies!

For a change of pace, I located this picture in my picture library and thought we might enjoy seeing a little winter in the summer. The setting sun gives a purple glow to the snow and ice and lights up the snow on the trees in the distance in a patch of yellow! This picture was taken about 4 years ago during a very snowy winter which produced large ice cycles.

Contrasts

The email to tell us about this month's theme popped into the inbox just after I had brought some plants onto the patio ready for a colour workshop. The theme, which was prearranged, was 'contrast' and the colours previously chosen by students were purple and yellow. Here are just a few

While I was doing it, there was a knock at the front door. It was a bouquet of flowers for my birthday.

Put together

Complimentary Colours, all images put together from objects inside of my home, as my garden is in the middle of winter, so no colour, other than greens.....though nice, no complimentary colours to be found. 

My blue and orange picture is of, a wonderful blue crystalline bowl, contained within is a Tangerine, and a magnificent Black Cockatoo's feather, of a stunning orange & black.

This may seem an odd combination, Red Swan chair with Green Parsley, picked fresh from my veggie garden. 

Bright Yellow Jonquil, just popped out at the bottom of the garden, on the only purple thing I could find in the house, my winter coat.

I had to add this bright little fellow, sporting some complimentary colours.

A project that really had me thinking, I enjoyed finding these colours and putting them together on this gray, cold rainy day.
