Farmer's Market Wind Down

I enjoy taking $20 to the farmer's market and seeing what goodies I can buy. I will miss the white peaches and berries and fresh corn and tomatoes. Oh my, just thinking about this makes me glad and sad. Perhaps there is a month remaining but the goodies begin to dwindle.

There is no accounting for the look of things but my tastes buds truly don't care what the look is. And I love the complimentary colors. YEAH!

September

This gorgeous little scented orchid is in bloom right now and brightens my autumn days.

September travels

7 am, on a very cold September morning.  I am travelling with a young man called Phil, and we have been driving all night.  As the daylight strengthens, we see this magnificent 18th Century Barracks on a Scottish hilltop.  Stopping, we find the gates are open, and the place, deserted and windswept, is ours to enjoy..
On our way to a Drum Dance, in an adventure, new things, new ideas, no feeling that the year is ready to die quite yet

September

Changing light outside reminds not only me of the season changes in September.

The light is changing.

There is more time for indoor activities, and some activities come indoors.

September is a ripple in time.  I will see its beauty in context.

A blurry picture becomes Autumn with editing.  September is Autumn.

Stourhead in September

A cliche, perhaps, but these pictures epitomise how I feel about September - misty, reflective, a little sad.

Oh, it's a long, long while from May to December
But the days grow short when you reach September
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
One hasn't got time for the waiting game
Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few
September, November
And these few precious days I'll spend with you
These precious days I'll spend with you

September..a month for road trips

Hi , September is always a time for a road trip on our motorcycle, usually across Europe somewhere. This year we stopped off at a festival on Germany, Venezianische Messe is based on the Venice Carnival and takes place at Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart every two years. Over 1300 people in costumes and assorted street performances take place over 3 days in the old centre of the town.

September -- sick of summer!!!

In September much of our garden has given up.   Let's get on with it!!  Bring on the cool weather and pumpkins.

September

What is September for you? New prompt today is to show us September from your point of view. Use the label September.

You can do several photos if you like. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. You could also say how you are inspired by your photo, or by the month itself.

For me, one of the things that goes with September is the idea of the end of Summer. And with that I begin to notice provision for the winter. These are all in my back and front gardens.

For humans

and for birds or other animals.

Love the colours of these berries...very inspirational!
