R is for rust

I have made a study of old farm buildings and machinery.  This one inspired a quilt about four years ago.

A shed made from sheets of corrugated iron.

Our neighbour in our previous house had a smallholding next door and collected ancient tractors.  This is a detail from one of his wrecks.

Now we live in a coastal town with lots of rust on fishing boats and equipment.

I could go on.  I really love the colours and texture of rust and I know I am not the only textile artist who feels this way.
