Rose Garden

Newspapers keep telling us that climate change will bring about the end of the British rose gardens. Happily for me, when I moved house last month we discovered this neglected rose bush in our new garden. A neighbour tells us that these rose bushes have been here for more than 50 years. They have so many wonderful flowers ,the perfume is delightful.

opposites attract - orange and blue

Just finished my necklace tonight. I had the hardest time, trying to make the beads match. In the end, inspiration kicked in, when I decided to mix them all up and make a treasure necklace. The orange resin tubes and striped blue beads are new, added with some leftover blues.

G can be nothing but German Shepherd to me

add a Golden Retriever and this is what might emerge
GermanShepherd+GoldenRetriever
25-30 years ago I cut a huge number of silhouettes in paper. First using designs in books later looking around for inspiration and doing my own thing. Recently by chance I came across a blog of a lady who cuts the most intricate silhouettes and my jaw dropped: http://www.ruralpearl.com/ However seeing this I got inspired to return to silhouettes although not in paper but in fabric. So far I have only been drawing on the computer.

I made "Ginger" earlier in the year from dyed cotton, stuffed and decorated with cloves, a homespun scarf and twiggy things I found on one of my walks

Letter - G

Lots of good ideas, work and photos lately. I have been looking, honest! My last teaching session for the summer is on Monday evening, so I may finally get a chance to comment.

The prompt for the rest of July is for things having to do with the Letter G. When you compose your post, it would be great if you could choose G for the label box before clicking on publish. If you click on Show All, next to the labels box, you can select the right label for the prompt you are responding to. (I'd like to keep the labels relevant to the prompts, though, so please don't add new ones.)

G is for Gate

We also recently had gold for inspiration, you could look there to get a start or to see how you might want to go in a completely different direction.

Orange

I never thought much of orange as a color until I started to be more serious about taking photos.  Now I realize how wonderful it is -- the plainest shape and the most ordinary object becomes special if it's orange.

Orange

You can have this
but I prefer this
This is not the same photograph but it has just inspired me to go and see what I can do about that building.
That's better.

Fiery orange chilli peppers

I love chilli peppers in and with almost anything; salads, ice cream, traditional chilli con whatever so I simply could not have anything but chilli peppers for this challenge. On top of that they go so well with this piece of batik I have in my stash.
Enjoy the picture (and am I not the privileged one? I get to eat them!)
Fiery Orange
BTW as usual I have problems on/off commenting so Thank You to everybody for sharing their inspirational pictures, photos and work. I enjoy very much checking the blog.

Orange Mushroom

These mushrooms pop up only in one of my flower beds and only when we have lots of rain. This is now the second year that I've had them and they always get comments.

orange marigold

rusty building

A photo I took when visiting my sis-in-law in Leeds of a recently constructed rusty building.
Apparently it is called Corten Cladding. They sprayed some sort of chemical on the surface of the building and before long it had turned rusty, looking like it had been there forever.

Fiery Orange

The colour for July is orange. A few of the teal/turquoise photos showed some orange and rust as well. And, as we are finally getting some warm weather here in the UK, it is a bit easier to look at some warm colours.
What oranges - fiery or otherwise - inspire you?
