Long before I ever designed and made jewellery I was a soft sculpture artist of animals and collectable teddie Bears I designed my own patterns and often dyed the fabric or hand painted it. I worked in both mohair, alpaca and later, felted creations after an injury to my wrist bought a halt to the bigger stuffed animals.
The Big bear is a 24" Kermode bear I designed and hand painted from photos and the other picture is of Mikki a needlefelted 2 1/2" tiny bear with his friend both bears are five way jointed. I still do needlefelting which I enjoy.
