November's challenge: anthropomorphism

This month's theme: anthropomorphism.  That's fancy language for finding human qualities or attributes in non-human beings or objects.  You can personify the weather, the planets, plants and flowers, animals, your sewing machine or your car.

Here are some trees with faces.

Red

I've realised that I don,t use red very much in my embroidery, so here are two photos I've played around with. First. Some redcurrants (?) in Queen Eleanor's Garden at the Great Hall in Winchester.

Second, a photograph of some bark on a tree at Mottisfont Abbey - the marks on the bark are really those shapes, but I did add a touch of red.

And finally, the only red needlework I could find - a knitted shawl I made to use up lots of odd balls, which I wear all the time.
